Clinic Broadway Percussion Performance ClinicI am very excited about my new performance clinic that I developed this fall. I realized over the years that very few young artists are even aware that there is a whole career of playing going on on Broadway and various orchestra pits all over the wolrd as musical theater contiunes to become more and more popular. My particular clinic not only shows the various demands stylistically that we as percussionists are called to peform but also the many other demands placed on all instrumentalists playing in this genre. I also outline my process of preparing a percussion book from the moment I'm called with the gig to the first public performance. I hope to meet as many aspiring artists all over the world that might find this world that I have called home for 20 years now intriguing. Here is the latest news about my new clinic I performed in August. http://www.salina.com/news/Story/Drummer-Dave-8-27

Alzheimers Association
National Conference Washington DC May 14 - 17, 2011

Alzheimer's disease is a very close and personal cause to me. My grandmother died from this disease over 30 years ago and now both my parents suffer from it as well. Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's disease and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this devastating disease.I will continue to spread the word and work along side the Alzheimer's Association in bringing us all one step closer to a cure.

This past May I attended the Alzheimer's National Conference in DC. It was an enlightening experirence to see where we have come over the years and where we are headed in regard to this disease. I am proud to be the Ambassador for the 14th District of New York. My responsibility is to represent the consituents of this district on this topic and relay information to Representative Carolyn Maloney and both NY Senators. I, along with my fellow ambassadors and advocates, lobbied on May 17 in the halls of Congress to help further current and future legislation. I also gave an interview on NPR that you can play locatated below the picture above.
Once again this year I and my illustrious team (United Broadway Artists) are on the march to find a cure for this terrible disease. If you would like to support my cause you can go to my donation page and contribute. No gift is too small and know that it means the world to me.http://walktoendalz.kintera.org/nyc/daveroth
